I have been fascinated with severe weather as long as I can remember. Growing up in Indiana, there were plenty of storms, and every time my parents would try to get me into our basement, I would sneak out for a look at the action!
I graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Biology/Chemistry. I have completed post-graduate work in Meteorology at St. Cloud State University-- what fun that was!
When not chasing, I am a huge fan of motor sports (IRL, F1, and NASCAR), and try to get to as many races as I can. I also enjoy rock hounding, working out, and gardening.
I live in Plymouth, a western suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. As much as I enjoy my home, when spring rolls around it's time to hit the road, and enjoy all the beauty of this vast nation, sharing the experience with my Twister Sister!

I have been fascinated with storms ever since I was in 3rd grade living in Arizona. I would lay in my back yard to watch the awesome lightning shows (not the smartest thing to do!). In high school I finally got to experience the power of severe weather living in Minnesota. As soon as I could drive I would follow the storms.
After completing my B.S. in Chemistry and Biomedical Science I focused more on my passion for storms. Now I enjoy the forecasting, chasing, and capturing the amazing sky through photography, another passion of mine. I am always eager to learn more and love sharing my passion with others, especially my Twister Sister!
I am 32 years old, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota working as a Corporate Quality and Safety Manager for Pace Analytical Services. While I work hard through the long, cold Minnesota winters, I look forward to spring all year long!!

I am a second generation severe weather junkie. My father, Dr. Vernon Doms, got me started by observing thunderstorms in western Minnesota and the eastern Dakotas back in the 70's.
The 1990's were the time for college, career and family. With a lot of new responsibilities the opportunities for chasing weren't great, but enough to build the anticipation to be able to go after a storm. I used this time to hone my severe weather forecasting skills and become accurate to the point where I was able to pick a "target" 3-5 days in advance and further refine it as the day of the potential event drew closer.
Cullen started going on short local "pursuits" with me at the age of 4 1/2. His love of the sky was very apparent as he was always anxiously watching the weather to see if there was a chance for any type of thunderstorms. Now at age 9, he logs approximately 20-25 chase days per year with me, shoots a lot of the video we use and is in charge of running all the navigation software while we are chasing.

I was born and raised in a small town on my parent's farm outside of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota. I have always been the adventurous type and have been interested in weather since I was a little kid. I remember when I was 8 or 9, my mother found me out by the corn crib watching a strong line of storms approaching, and she had to drag me into the house just before we ended up getting pounded by nickel size hail and 70 mph winds.
While attending St. Cloud State University and pursuing my degree in Meteorology, I continued to observe the weather through storm chasing and learned more about what happens in weather, why things happen and what should happen in certain situations. After graduating, my degree has led to my current position as a Meteorologist for DTN/Meteorlogix in the Minneapolis area.
Serious storm chasing is something that I have been doing as a hobby for about five years. Every storm is different and there have been some nervous situations that I have gotten myself into as well as many glorious moments.

I am 29 years old, and I live in Fargo, North Dakota. In my day-to-day job, I work as a Security Auditor/Computer Hacker, primarily with banks and hospitals. I am recently married, and my life outside of chasing typically consists of playing around with computers, fishing, playing Hockey, and watching the Minnesota Wild Hockey Team.
I have been storm chasing since 2001, and I have shot footage for different national and local television stations since 2004. Some of my footage has been seen on The Weather Channel, KVLY-TV/KXJB-TV in Fargo, North Dakota, and KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I do have quite a bit of equipment for chasing - including several laptops, two ham radios, a Mobile Threat Net Weather Worx - Satellite Weather System, and SwiftWX Professional software for tracking storms while in the field. I have quite a bit of excitement for chasing – it doesn't always have to be a day when we will get tornadoes, I'm just happy to be out there chasing.

I'm a part-time college professor, part-time extreme weather photojournalist. I take the photos I shoot back to the classroom to teach earth and atmospheric science. Also, the photos that I have been shooting over the last couple years will soon be used in a new cutting edge website that will showcase all of the major natural hazards on our planet. My photos also appear in major television newscasts, scientific journals, popular books, websites, and museums.
My current natural hazards website was the first of its kind and is probably the most comprehensive on the Internet: http://naturalhazards.org. You can see some of my general science photography at: http://jonvandegrift.com.
I currently live in Boulder, Colorado, where we have no shortage of extreme weather. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts degree from the Ohio University.
This photo of me is from this winter's big snowstorm in Colorado. Buried under that pile of snow is a brand new, fully outfitted storm chasing vehicle designed for high speed over the roughest of roads while in pursuit of whatever Mother Nature is brewing up.

I'm 50 years old and live in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. I've been married for 32 years to my high school sweetheart, Brian. Brian and I have two daughters, Jennifer, 29 and Theresa, 27, and five cats.
I grew up on a small dairy farm southwest of Bock, Minnesota and attended Milaca High School and the St. Cloud Business College. I'm the office manager for the real estate, construction and development company Brian and I own. I've been interested in severe weather all my life and REALLY wanted to watch storms with my Dad when I was growing up, but my Mom thought the basement was a safer place for us kids during storms.
I've been a volunteer member of the Stearns County Skywarn storm spotter program for over six years and have been chasing storms with other chasers I've met for almost as long. I also love cooking, gardening and spending time with my family.

I am a Meteorology/Technical Communications student at Metro State College in Denver. My weather interest has been a life-long passion as anyone who's ever known me will say. I officially began chasing in 2000 and haven't stopped since; logging thousands of miles each year in pursuit of the worst nature can bring.
I chase storms for a variety of reasons. My love of the road combined with weather merged into the perfect hobby and I was later able to add my other interest in the digital media field - where my second major lies. I'm one of the casual chasers; I enjoy the long drives across the country and having fun on all sides of the chase. When I write my chase logs or edit a highlight video, half of my footage is the weather I encounter, the other half is behind-the-scenes stuff of me, my friends, and the good times that are some of the best parts of storm chasing.
Beyond the weather, I live a pretty low-key lifestyle. I spend time in the company of close friends and family and I enjoy bowling, Martial Arts, camping, and movies.

Weather has been my passion since I was very young. The 24/7 radar channel was my favorite channel by age three. I began my chasing career when I was 16 and was able to drive around following storms on my own. I am attending St. Cloud State University where I have been majoring in Meteorology. In the past six years of chasing I have had the opportunity to meet and become friends with many chasers, and some who I would now regard as my best friends.
Other experience I have in meteorology includes interning with the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, Minnesota where I assisted in the issuance of routine products and forecasts and was given the opportunity to work during several severe weather events affecting the Twin Cities metro. During these events I would issue storm reports for the media as well as short term forecasts to alert the public to approaching weather. In my chasing career thus far I have recorded approximately 30 tornadoes and I am extremely excited to share this chasing experience with others.

I was born and raised in Goodhue, Minnesota and I spend a lot of my free time with my family. I have two wonderful and strong parents, two sisters,
four brothers, a few sibling significant others, and three nephews.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education - Social Science and History
from Winona State University for middle school and high school levels. My career has shifted into the social service field.
I am now a Residential Program Manager at Opportunity Partners, Inc. We are a non-profit service provider for people who have disabilities, serving the Minneapolis metro area. We help our clients gain independence in their residential and vocational avenues of life.
In October 2006 I met this charming meteorologist named Brad. We started dating and have been together ever since! Storm chasing was never a hobby of mine, but it was for Brad. His passion for storm chasing was a little contagious, as I soon found myself involved with this adventure. Prior to this experience,
I had never officially chased before! I remember being a little girl, standing outside, watching the storms roll in over the farm with my dad. I never would
have thought that some day I would actually be chasing the storms!
